SchoolNow has announced it has joined the Clever platform of school applications designed to make access to technology as easy and safe as possible for teachers, staff and parents.

The SchoolNow web communications solution has joined a select group of school software providers who link their solutions to Clever’s unified platform, bringing a host of capabilities, efficiencies and enhanced security to the thousands of schools who use this free service.

“Joining the Clever community of school solutions is consistent with the SchoolNow mantra of making it easy for our customers to manage their website and notification systems with unified ease,” said Eric Fulkert, SchoolNow CEO.

SchoolNow is dedicated to helping teachers and school administrators communicate better by removing the barriers of technology. Easier technology facilitates better communications with parents, which improves achievement and education outcomes.

“We want to make it as simple as possible for schools to deploy and use our product, and with Clever data integration, it’s just another way to do that.”

More than 80 of the top 100 and thousands of school districts across the U.S. use Clever to transmit roster information required for their applications to function. Schools maintain control of their data and can set sharing permissions for each connected application.

Added security and control of apps for schools

“The level of data security and control that Clever brings to our customers is well beyond what we could grow ourselves,” said Fulkert, a former data center and hosting professional himself. “Any school or student data is ultra sensitive, and Clever locks down its data with a security infrastructure that our current and future customers can benefit from.”

The first CMS to partner with Clever, SchoolNow and its customers can now benefit from the speedy deployment and easy integration with other school applications in the Clever line up of education software.

Fulkert said that Clever’s speed of implementation – hours, in those districts where a common SIS is in place – aligns with a marketplace that’s placing more emphasis on quick implementation. “The usually cumbersome and time-consuming task of plugging in school data into a CMS is now eliminated,” said Fulkert. “With SchoolNow’s design templates and intuitive tools, schools can get their websites deployed faster than ever.”

Clever, with more than 200 helpful school apps in its gallery of available applications, transmits data securely using TLS/SSL, giving school districts full control. In addition, Clever employs two-factor authentication for an added level of security. SchoolNow, Clever and all its integrated applications are fully FERPA compliant, a prerequisite for data privacy standards.

Removing the barriers of technology for educators

Clever, which works with more than 200 applications, features “instant login” that eliminates the need for multiple passwords across the different programs. With Clever’s single sign-on, school staff, teachers and parents can easily access the SchoolNow-powered website or notification system.

“This kind of affiliation enables us to focus on what we do best – websites and web communications – leaving the data management to Clever, and the teaching to the educators. It’s really the perfect model for schools,” added Fulkert.
